Miss her lots, she was very nice pony.

Also, bought Harry without seeing him, he was brilliant (still is!)
Bought a cob without trying, took trialer and money and said, eyp he is fine and he came home. Wonderful little cob (now retired)

Only if it was cheap.

More often I would want to sit on it first as I am not a rider that can get the best out of every horse, I get on with certain types far better than others.

If it was unbroken then yes I think I would buy unseen, provided I trusted my source.

Possibly, although it would be dependent on where or who the recommendations were comming from.

I have to say though, I think for the vast majority (and I include myself in that) it would be incredibly unwise to do it.

For a commerical venture rather than personal ride, yes, I would consider it, but the person recommending would have to know me inside out. Like you, most of my teens were 'hey emma, jump on this, see what it can do - depending on the horse and the season this often involved throwing ourselves around a XC course!!! My boss did like me, honest!!!! Bought plenty of horses at sales, never ever rode at the sales as there really wasn't anywhere safe to IMO. Yes, we got a couple of lemons, but then we didn't vet the ones at sales, provided you aren't spending more than you can afford to lose, then I don't see why not.
