Would you feed your horse to a lion?

I have been to Jimmy's Farm in Suffolk with the Polar Bears. I was wondering how much they ate in a day and what they were fed? The documentaries on TV tactfully never mention it.
Then I looked around at all the cute little goats and lambs and rabbits they have on display for the kiddies and realised!

I'm pretty sure they used to gas cats to pts at the vets back in the 70s. I did some work experience when I was in my early teens. The dogs were injected, but the cats - after the owner had left the 'destruction box' was brought out. It had thick walls and very secure fastenings. I asked what happened to the cats when they were put in the box and they told me they just 'peacefully went to sleep'. I was too young/innocent to question further.
If it helps it was probably anesthetic gas or co2 - neither of which are unpleasant deaths provided gas conc is increased gradually

Well my horses are eaten by hounds so it’s really the same as zoo animals.
I have so far been able to have all my horses pts at home.
If I could not and the zoo was near I would consider it.

Talking about keeping parts of our horses, someone i follow on twitter kept her horse's skull. The vets removed it for her and she sent it away to have the flesh removed! 😬
Gross, I find that very peculiar and deranged really.
It is one thing cutting a little bit of tail or mane and, keeping the shoes, even a bit of ergots that come off and fur. But to cut your horses head off and keep it no chance no way. 🤮🤮🤢

But then I don't get keeping ashes in a box the size of a side table. I rather have the skull

I suppose that is how we all differ, our views are all unique to the individual, the way I see it, I have ALL* my horses ashes back in there entirety, like some keep their mothers/fathers etc on the mantle piece. I know where my horses ashes are and I can bury them as i see fit, or keep it till i feel ready emotionally to lay them to rest. Like I said earlier my first mares ashes I keep from 1995 till 2024 when I laid her ashes to rest in the pet cemetery along with the others, it is a sacred place and won't be bulldozed to put more houses up. Eventually I will be ready to let the others go and myself.

This is a always a diverse discussion. Gun/injection/ recycle/ ashes back token memory no memory. There is no right or wrong it is all down to individual views and choices. Being vegetarian the idea of a head on the wall be it game or otherwise i feel creepy.
