But at the same time, I have 3 main reasons for why I can't imagine doing it. First because it would leave less room for new pets, secondly because the potential risk for that a new puppy might gnaw a hole in one of the oldies, and lastly, what happens with them when I die?
Why would my 2 nephews + 1 niece want to inherit xx number of taxidermied pets, and what would they do with them?

now the thought of getting some payback on some family members ................you shouldn't have put that thought in my mind...........you only get the inheritance if you take the dog for a walk/wheel once a month, or your forfeit the inheritance :)

once when one of my friends bought a new house i could not think of a house warming present, he was the sort of person to pay £700 on a new kitchen tape (before Qooker)........................walking past an antique shop i found a full size Egyptian sarcophagus drinks cabinate..........to big to hid in a draw to only bring out when we where coming round...............if only it had not been £300, too much for a joke gift!

The thread title did give me a laugh, but the answer to it is absolutely no way, would I.

A friend of mine many moons ago did however get her deceased horse's hooves made into ashtrays, and had her equally deceased English bull terrier turned into a draught excluder.

No way - ever. Apart from anything else I have a good few favourites and my house is fairly generous proportions but couldn't house the lot of them lol!

Here is the Youtube of the poor stuffed cat mentioned earlier, I will never forget this programme one of the funniest clips I have ever seen, with my luck that is the sort of job I would end up with if I did decide to stuff one of them

Had to look after reading this thread! The taxidermy place did a very good job I think, and the lady was obviously extremely happy with it which is good!
But like, where the heck would you put a stuffed horse... in the house? In the stable?! And lord I hate to think how much it would cost. (Not that she looks like she worries about money. Also probably wouldn’t worry about space for it but still - like would it have a dedicated room?!?)
There’s a museum near me that I’ve been going to since I was a child. Some of the animals look abit tatty now, so I wonder if this horse will eventually start getting that weird scary look to it.
Also on one of her posts she links the Company that did this for her, and they have some WEIRD STUFF. Including a “sea horse” (horses head and neck and skin then shaped into a seahorse shape? And a zebra mounted on a wall with a tutu and funky angled back legs!

Extraordinarily weird, IMO, so a big no from me. Where on earth would you keep it? It wouldn’t be my horse, it couldn’t look at me in the coy cute way he does when he’s being cute and checking for treats. Too strange. I’ve got his last 2 shoes from where could hold them for more than 5 minutes. I’ll get them decorated for me and his sharer when he goes.

When my old boy died i imagined i would want to spend a bit of time with him 'after' but i was shocked at how different he looked as soon as he was gone, his soul had gone and therefore his body was literally a shell. I have never felt like this with my dogs, but maybe it was because they all closed their eyes, whereas his stayed open and i could see he was no longer there.

So no, i wouldn't
