would you have done the same?

and people who have ridden her havent exactly been the lightest people on the planet :-P i have been trying super hard for this women as i know what this current climate is like with the horses... she couldnt be a broodmare as has been pregnant before but apparently hated it and unfortunatly the foal died in her!

16 yo horses who have worked to a reasonable level who bronc and bronc when ridden have an issue this is not normal unless the horse has always been very unprediticable.
The saddle must of course be sorted dont get back on until the back has been checked by a good physio ( personally I would have a vet and a physio) .
I would continue lunging longriening ( if possible ) and hack out leading from another horse until its safe to try riding again .
Thinking about I don't think I would get on some else's dangerous horse until the vet has checked it .
KS often follow foot trouble so you need to a vet to check for that you can usually get an indication of issues like that without X-rays but you need a vet for that.
Don't get squashed over someone else's horse its not worth it.

thankyou GD she has sorted saddle and back person now thankfully! i think its just strange why she has chosen to do it now?! out of all the times she has been ridden before?! i think i must have an electric bum! and every mare i have got on they're little ******s XD

I do not mean this in any way nastily but given what you have written above are you really the best person for this job.

I don't mean to seem rude at all but, by some of the things you have written I get the impression you are perhaps quite young and also rather inexperienced. I would be leaving this kind of job to the professionals. It's not worth you getting hurt or causing more problems for the mare.

Now, this isn't meant to be mean or nasty, I don't know you or the horse BUT from what you have written here I suspect that this horse and you might not be the best combination. I'm suspecting that the owner can't find anyone else to do the work on the horse because other people are seeing red flags where you don't seem to be.
Some good advice on this thread, and I agree this horse might need a professional to work with it.
If I am wrong I apologise, but can only go off what you have written here.

Capriole and MizPurpleKitten have said what I want to say, probably far more succinctly, but quite frankly you seem to not have a clue.

You don't ride ANY horse in an ill fitting saddle, whether the owner tells you to or not. You don't shove a polypad under an illfitting saddle to make the saddle fit because it won't work.

I suspect the owners are using you as a crash test dummy, because you're either cheap or free, rather than getting the mare sorted out properly.
