She had a full mane when i bought her but as she's not a reg m&m i had to pull her mane. It was so thick as it got shorter it just all stood up and looked horrid. So one day i slipped with the clippers

yours looks lovely im not sure as it sounds daft but she rides really low dosent hold herself upright think as shes a ex driving horse shes more used to pulling so not much of a chunky neck at all if you get what i mean lol

Yes she looks the type! You can always grow it out if you don't like it. I hogged my grey in the piccie after many years of being told I should and resisting...it has made life so easy I wished I had done it 10 years ago instead of struggling with the mane from hell (about 5 inches thick!) Only thing is, she looks a bit like Crichton from Red Dwarf!

I think she would look smart all hogged and trimed. But as has been said above you can always grow it out if you don't like it. Her mane may grow back better aswell if you deside you prefure her with mane.

Really don't know - could try it and if you don't like it let it grow back...

I'm being told off cos I won't pull my guys mane - never mind hog it. Very chestnut TB and it looks lovely all flowy like it is. I've been told this is just not right and very embarrasing like some kind of 80's mullet. It does give me summin to grab when accelerates or goes skyward

I love my laid back hippy racehorse...
My loaner before had a hogged mane but being a shire X...

Scuse the riding. Yes i'm ugly and a beginner. All had to start somewhere

He was. He would've got sold from under me at the end of my loan but I got wind of it 3 months earlier... look after him over the winter for them then kick me off the yard. Couldn't afford the 3500 they wanted me to pay for him. He's in yorkshire now... He is such a gentle soul and a big teddy bear.
