Hopefully if I get it all out I won't feel miserable and tempted to polish off the chocolate hobnobs! ;) Feeding a touch fed up as noticed my girl's hind leg seemed 'odd' this morning when I asked her to move over in the stable- couldn't feel anything but she looked slightly stiff from what I could see in the dark leading her out- anyway this afternoon I left work early to assess her in the daylight and- yep she's lame behind slight heat in two different places and slight swelling- I have a feeling she was cast last night or hit her leg rolling as she is itchy after being clipped and all her rugs were twisted around this morning. Any waiting for vet to ring me back and horse is on bute and box rest- Anyway- the point of my misery is I've been slowly bring her back into work from the beginning of January following a pretty pants 20 months of liver damage/ resulting illness and discovery of chronic suspersory damage/ big operation- and 3 years before this of some pretty horrendous accidents (I've owned her since she was 2- shes now 9 so luckily I know her entire life history!) and I am really looking forward to riding her and she was feeling fantasitc! She is booked to go to bootcamp next weekend for 3 weeks with my instructor which is now looking in doubt and I've got a case of the miseries.

So please slap me out of it as I know there are pelenty of people in the world who have a good reason to feel miserable! Thanks for reading and have some hot choc! ;)

Bloody horses! Mine did seven months box rest for a ruptured peroneus tertius and then had a paddy and damaged her stifle. Meanwhile her replacement injured himself after a few weeks and so I had two of them on box rest!

Fingers crossed your girl will be right as rain after a couple of days and boot camp can still be on!

Moan away, I feel the same, one of mine has just come off 7 weeks box rest after nearly cutting his foot off and now my other one ( who is my riding horse) is now on box rest with unexplained lameness even after nerve blocks and X rays. I'm on the wine :) x

You feel free to moan away. As they say thats the trouble with horses, bless them thats why we love them so much. I do hope that its not too serious and you will be back on going onwards and upwards. Hope all goes well for a speedy recovery.
