I've been happily at my current yard for quite a few years. However, i had a nasty accident in one of the fields there last year, and we cannot seem to get past it. Would you keep trying to resolve it, or move yards, its been over 8 months now.

Reasons to stay
The people are amazing, the least bitchy yard, good friendships away from the yard. All look after each others for hols etc. My other horse (nearly 30) loves it there and has been bullied at previous yards, lovely owners on site, secure, reasonable, unlimited turnout, 2 mins from house. limited other places to go

Reasons to go
Only way to hack out involves riding through the fields where accident occured. No other way to the road(long story), horse will jog, bolt, rear, spook sideways at a gallop, generally have a melt down until past the spot. Bulls roaming in fields, horse fine, husband on foot not fine. No school. Far too much grass making horse seriously fat, spooky and worse riding through field. Limited people to ride with on days i ride. Basically i cannot ride out, maybe twice a week at best at the moment.

would you move or keep trying, sorry its a long one.

That would depend on the answer too
Imagine you are at a new yard, still no one to hack out with. Would you be more nervous of taking him somewhere you don't really know or going thro said field?
Have you tried getting someone else to ride him thro the field?!

If its just a case of getting through this one field to ride I would personally just lead horse through & mount after the problem area. Over time both yours & horse confidence should rise. Can you restrict grazing at all?
You could look at other livery yards but I expect it will be hard to find one as pleasant as yours!

I'd suggest getting professional help. Ask around - the YO or local tack shop if they know of someone who would help your horse get over this problem. Then have a couple of lessons yourself - it's great for moving you on.
Ps Everyone has too much grass atm, it won't last long.
