Hi, had the boys back checked the other week, he was napping and I wanted to know if he had anything wrong.
Anyway he was looked over and I was told he had nothing bad just a little bit of tightness in his saddle area, which she worked on, and his saddle was then checked.
She said it's best to have another visit just to see how he's getting on, but its £82 a time and ive ridden him since and moved yards and he seems fine to me, he's being very good.
We've also just renovated our house and im a bit short of cash this month.

So would you bother paying an extra £82 for the other visit just to see if he's ok, when he feels fine? or am I being a mean mummy?

Its a lot of money (not saying its not worth it but it is) so I'd leave it too. I'd give the lady a ring and let her know though, and obviously do have her out again if there are any more problems.

People have to cover themselves by advising they come back to check the problem has gone.

I was in similar circumstances and I haven't had mine back as he seems absolutely fine, mine was about £50 a time; which to me is alot if everything is ok. If we get any problems she'll come back though.
So no i don't think your being mean :)

I would ring the lady and explain that he is doing really well and you would like to cancel the other visit, do explain to her that money is a bit of an issue at the moment and when your finances are more sorted you will ring to rebook

i get charged £45 and so long as there aren't any problems my horse is seen every 6 months but i keep in touch with the back person in between the appointments. any problems then she comes out sooner so that nothing is left to get worse.

if i was you then i would speak to the back person and explain you can't afford it right now especially as there aren't any problems that you can see/tell. but could she come out again in the new year or something.
