have ONE of the following (just a bit of fun, I'm bored

)....

A huge outdoor floodlit arena (say 60m x 40m)

OR

A small indoor arena (say 30m x 15m)

Definately the size! Currently at a yard with a small indoor 20x30 and its not very easy and I only have a 15hh, by the time I'm straight on the quarter line in preparation for leg yield I'm at the other end! To be honest there are very rare occassions when the weather is too bad to ride outdoors, and I'm normally cooking in the indoor school so would welcome a nice chilly breeze!

I wouldnt mind either, seeing as though i dont have a school of any sort at home! But if i had a choice i think a larger outdoor school cos then theres plenty of room for a course of show jumps so more flexibility

Haha, 60 x 40 is pretty big, if you went bigger the costs go up a LOT. Believe me I know, we're building a 60 x 40 at the moment, looks like this-

And it's costing just over £50k

The liveries better be grateful! lol.

Obviously if you had loads of money it wouldn't be a problem to have a 200 x 100

I have just moved to a yard with a small indoor and its great especially after the summer we have had. Least u cant get them exercised in all weather and if cant go out can get a leg stretch. I have regular lessons and go to a place at least once a week with a large outdoor. Also we have lots of fields round about and then u can have as big a school as u want!! .

I think I could cope with a nice new school like yours...just

but when I ride my 17.1 in canter especially, the sides of the school come up a bit too quick! I think if money was no object Id like a 80x60 just so I have a bit more room

If I was small enough to ride a 12.1 Id be more than happy in your school!

small indoor.

but only cos my horse is easily distracted and can be quite spooky outside especially if the weather is bad. I get much better work out of her in an indoor and she ins't the only one on the yard like this.

Outdoor for me and we have a lovely one at the moment...........If we had a small indoor I would never get to ride as it would be full with the other liveries......

Large outdoor. I was at a yard with a small indoor for a bit and I hardly ever used it as it got too dusty. And what's the point of a surface if you can't jump on it properly/do a course!

Huge outdoor in the Summer and small indoor in the Winter

ETS We actually have a 25x45 outdoor... would like some big hedges around the edge to keep the wind off when its cold though!

Large outdoor, our yards one is 75 x 50. which is great, but surface could do with some attention, great in winter but deap in summer.

I'd be delighted with either tbh, indoor would be fab for winter, but I like to be outside in summer, although I guess if you have nice hacking you can do that instead when it's nice weather. Currently I have a 15m x 15m (approx, probably a bit of a generous estimate) outdoor school, and its really difficult to do anything much in, if we try to jump a double we have 1 stride either side then we're in a wall!
