Depends on the country to be honest.
Over open country jumping big hedges I would deffo want to be on my pointer!
But through trappy country with a lot of waiting about I would much rather be on my mum's cob, slow and steady but patient and sure footed
Depends on the horse. Cobs tend to be more comfy (to me anyway!) to ride for longer periods of time, TB types can be a bit hasty and choppy but as above really depends on the individual horse. In general i would say i'd prefer soemthing a bit cobbier but would probably prefer a sensible TB to a mental cob. Something in between would be ideal for me. Best horse i have ever hunted on was coincidentally TB x Irish Cob!!
Well I've had the pleasure of both and I enjoyed both but for different reasons, both horses being fresh to hunting too.
I really couldn't choose actually, I think providing you have good control, they have a leg in each corner (as in good on there feet) your in a comfortable secure saddle and you enjoy the horses gait, you'll have a good day what ever your on.
Some TB's ride like cobs, some cobs go like the clappers!
