OH has said there is someone at works brother that is looking to rehome his 7 year old husky. they are moving to Australia and have 1 week left to rehome the dog (no idea why they left it this late or what the circumstances are).

We are considering a 3rd dog but was not really planning on a Husky (we ahve an inuit and a JRT- were thinking more or a spaniel!) but basically just feel sorry for it. not sure what will hapen to it if a home is not found, we do not have a husky resuce here.

Would you walk away or try an help?

Veteran classes start at seven years old, all breeds, that's what I work off :p

My old bitch died at 14 but I would have classed her as getting into old age at seven because of the above!

I would inclined to atleast go and meet the dog, and if you where thinking of a third he/she may fit in perfectly, ask a few questions, but if they are up and moving to another Country then atleast it's a "last resort rehome" and not jsut a "I need shot of the dog" for no reason at all, or some crappy excuse.

Yes, I would adopt an older dog. In fact, I think my next dog(s) will be older dogs. It is so so hard for them to find homes and you can make such a difference in their lives.
