Hi what are your thoughts? Walking on the moor today I came across this Bay Mare, heavily in foal and grazing with a small wild herd. In my opinion she is in very poor condition that the pictures (taken on my mobile) do not fully show. Her back end is all skin and bone, her movement laboured and her overall condition is the poorest of all the horses she is in company with. Grateful for your views.

OMG yes I personally would, although she could be an aged mare that has roamed all her life....she does look very thin though...poor little mite :(

^^ Could well be that it's an old gal, but if you say she's in foal then she's going to need more condition in order to provide milk for the foal and sustain it and her. I don't know how it works on the moors about being able to locate the same pony again or identity who owns it but I'd report it. Even if it's just so that she can be monitored and owner located etc. She's by no means the poorest I've seen (although pictures don't always give the full picture etc)! but definately needs monitoring I'd say otherwise she may end up getting worse.

I most certainly would, especially as she is in foal, she will need the condition on her to supply milk for the foal, and as they tend to lose condition anyway when they are feeding foals, this would worry me.

Let us know what happens hunny :)

^^ this!

Definitely report. Let whw look into it and establish why she is so thin. It's best to do something then nothing and end up regretting it.
