Translation.
Physiology and Way of Moving (approx)

A horse living in the wild will arrive at the age of 30/35 without problems and in some cases 40. A horse in captivity will hardly make it to 15 and if used in competitions this will be reduced to 8 years and in many cases 5 years.

This gentleman is clearly away with the fairies.:(

Bit of a thread revival here, for those who are interested.

I spoke to WHW, who weren't able to help as they do not have field officers on the ground in Italy. I have therefore been in touch with the IHPA (Italian Horse Protection Association). I spoke to someone there yesterday, directed him to the video - and he has advised that they will be investigating.

Fingers crossed that this guy gets the book thrown at him.

This was written under clip - translated I think it says:

A horse without bridle, saddle and irons, without ... without sight!
your ignorance and stupidity makes you not understand that the movie serves to promote the ban on slaughter of horses blind if you have something to comment talk to me directly at www.cavalloscalzo.net if you want clarification
The story of Willy is the story of a blind horse of 27 years to 4 years has remained locked in a box because untouchable by any person. Its owners have been trying for a long time throughout the Northern Italy in any private or handling with people who have the experience necessary to be able to give you still trust toward man.
Come by me, after about a week I realized that video in only 2 days that willy was mounted, x to understand that blind and unmanageable horses, as it had been classified by horse experts, canbe managed to avoid the usual cmq slaughterhouses

Going off this and a few other of his comments this horse has been worked with to gain its trust and to show that a blind untouchable horse can learn to trust and be ridden. Apparently he states this horse was only ever ridden this once and only to show the trust built up. He also states muscle wastage/lack of weight due to being stabled all it's life without being taken out at all.

Personally there is not a chance I would have ever ridden the poor thing (even to prove something). He is way too thin to do a trot let alone all that cantering shown on there :(

I get the feeling that once upon a time, Willy was a beautiful horse.

Now he is being paraded around but an utter twunt when he should be in retirement and living out his days in peace.

Poor man

Please don't take the wrong way as I notice the video was posted 2 years ago but I really hope that horse is dead now!
I say that because I could not bare to see it being ridden while it was not only blind but had less meat on it than a spare rib from a take-away :(
Not to mention the state of its feet too :(
I could not believe that not only was this person riding it but also in trot and canter!
With a saddle and pad that did not seem very padded.
Bloke did not look like a light weight 7stone person and that horse must have felt every move on its poor back.
Are some people just really that blind to see what they are doing is wrong or are they simply that thick?
At its age and condition it would have been better for it to have faced the bullet than struggle as a rack of ribs and with no sight whilst being cared for by someone who appears on the face of it to be devoid of even a single brain cell!
