I have done, my little welsh pony went to Chessington Equestrian. However she was the type who thrived on work but wouldn't put up with any nonsense, so I was happy about sending her there as the kids riding her would have to know how to ride!
Thanks for the further replies everyone, all taken into consideration!
I personally think that a lot of riding school ponies are happier and better looked after than some privately owned horses; in a way in a riding school people are going to notice MORE if a pony isn't looked after as it comes into contact with so many people.
However, I can also see the other side too and why some owners feel their horses are not suited.
I shall decide on where to keep it when I actually choose a horse and judge it based on that!
3bh - that sounds a great stables and much like one I worked at where we (the stable hands) were in charge of 3-4 horses each. We always groomed the same ones, lead them on beginner rides and often were the main ones to ride them too. It worked really well and I certainly bonded with them a lot
