would you separate or stable at night?

Both horses live out 24/7 together at the mo but I've an oldie who can't eat hay or haylage so has chaff instead and i'm wondering whether he'd be better away from the TB where I can leave him a big bucket of chaff for him to pick at 24/7.

My TB has bad feet currently barefoot and is walking through a deep boggy wet patch between the fields (it literally comes up 1/2 of my welly at the mo just to give you an idea as it is in a slight ditch it holds all the water!) so i'm wondering whether she would be better if I fenced her in her own field where she wouldn't have to come through the boggy wet ditch (thinking it might be better for her cracked weak feet?) but then she would only have the hedges for shelter and my oldie in the next field (hedge splits them so they can't really see each other though!) where he would have access to shelter with his chaff etc in.

or

Am I better having them together as they are now and bringing them both in at night where oldie could have his chaff although they are used to being out.

I'm really split as to what to do and what would be better for them both - what would you do?

Yes I agree bringing them both in at night might be best if you cant have them both in the same field. The chaff would blow about anyway or our would get eaten by deer.
The oldie would appreciate the stable overnight too.

Due to the not being able to see each other if separated in the field.
The best option would be ti bring them in at night.
As they are uses to living out if you could make a simlar arrangement but where they could see each other.
Or, bring them in for a few hours during the day, whichever suits you better.
