Assuming you wanted to ride a cob that is??? ;)

10 year old, medium/heavy weight cob. 15hh. Abit bolshy as cobs are, can be nappy but generally a good hack. Spooky as blind in one eye. Not hugely well schooled but will work well if he has to, loves jumping and is extreamly brave and honest. Loves a good gallop, very safe in open fields and beaches. Forward going and not a novice ride but never bucked or reared.

I'm looking ideally for someone to ride him twice a week, I would give up one weekend day if I had to but prefer not to as I'm selfish and want him to myself....but that said if someone wants to show him (and he's done very well in the odd show I've let him attend...I don't show can't be bothered but let other horseless riders take him in the past) I would be happy for them to take him at weekends.

I don't want money for him being ridden, just want him to get more exercise and to enjoy himself more. Plus getting home before 9 would be nice a couple of nights a week!!:D

So do you think there is people out there who'd want to give the nutty cob a go?

Someone experienced with good balance maybe, as a big spook whilst going for a good gallop could end badly lol! Though I have found people like this looking to share are hard to come by - hate to stereotype but most of the sharers to come forward for my mare a while ago were 13 year old girls who really didn't have a clue what they were doing :p

I think anyone looking for a chunky horse with a bit more fizz and fun would love him!

As someone who loves cobs I am sure there will be suitable people who want to ride. Not wanting money would also seem ultra attractive. Where in the country are you?

Lol!! He doesn't spook while having fun, he saves them for the quiet moments while hacking down a country lane!! Finds monsters in things that 1 minute earlier he'd passed without a problem!!

I'm in Anglesey North Wales which is part of the problem, it's very remote here and as you said it tends to only be younger girls and they can't drive, plus I would prefer someone older because of his sharp nature.

Big fat a*se.

I would too - sounds perfect for me but I am also in Surrey (only just, SW London is at the bottom of my garden!)

Are you near any Unis or Colleges? This year i discovered that if your closest uni has a riding club, that opens the door to about 20 people if not more that dont have much money but love nothing more thn riding a slightly "exciting" horse that they can get away from exams and stress etc!!! I asked for an email to be sent around the riding club and had so many replies! Most could drive too :) Only problem here would be if you werent near one...Im pretty sure if you advertised enough, whereever you are there would be someone thats interested! Theres so many people out there that want a horse but dont think they have the money or time!

Your horse isnt clled william by any chance is he lol? He souns SO much like my first horse!!!!! :)

I have given up looking for someone to share my 15hh almost bomb proof/novice ride horse.I didnt want any money for him either....just want someone who was committed. Also said they could show or hunt him........but no takers!!!

Haha I would but hes miles away from me!! I have just taken on a horse today who sounds a bit like him but 16hh and Selle Francais with arthritis so a hack only really (if anyone wants to share head my way ;)!) :p! So have him and my own full time as well as 4 part time jobs! Would take on any extras too haha :D

I was just about to say try uni's and colleges although samantha beat me to it! When I was at uni, I was desperate to ride more than my usual once a week so put out an advert myself in friday ad online saying what I was looking for and literally got about 70 responses in the space of a week! When I told my equestrian soc buddies about this, they all really wanted to do it too so I think you would find loads of eager 18+ yr old students wanting to help you out!

Have you tried advertising in friday ad? it's free and I could be wrong but I think it is connected to horsemart in some way!

Also, try universities if you have any...I'd probably say dont bother with colleges as that will attract 16yr old wannabe riders!
