Dont worry at all, in Sov's first test he spun round jumped out of the arena, and galloped down the long side he generally made a div of us but we did get 8 for the first centre line and in went downhill from there. He is going to do his first Novice on Saturday. I also have my other one (exhurdler) going to the dressage on Saturday to do the Prelim 4. The biggest issue my boys have is horses coming towards them on the other rein when working in, its quite alien to a racehorse who has spent all his life going in one direction. Good Luck and I will let you know how my Boys do on Saturday

Not at all, go for it......... I am taking my ex-flat racer to a show on Sunday, she did some show, but we are attempting the pre-novice show jumping, fences are 2', but I don't care, I want to get her out and enjoy herself and that is what you have to do, don't worry about anybody else, just imagine it is you and your rather lovely horse. Good luck and let us know how you get on. Thumbs up for taking on an ex-racer.......

Having done my first dressage with my 4year old last xmas, and left the arena at gallop, i can safely say, yes, yes people DO talk about it. BUT now they talk about us because of how good we are or how well behaved he is. Everyone starts somewhere. The key is to not listen or care about what people say or think, this is an essential part of your horses training. Anyway he might surprise you!!
