Oh dear! Probably not a scam but a wishful 17 year old with no concept of the distance of Chester from Kent.

see the first txt back i would of sent " yes he is still available, if you would like to call for more details". but i think it's just come kids dreaming. where have you got him advertised?
 
Personally I would ignore! I hate talking to people on the phone but when I was looking to buy I would never have text an owner! And definitely would not have put kisses on the end lol
 
This sounds like some desperate kid after a pony. I would never text back! Cheeky monkey, if she really wanted him she'd respect your wishes re hacking and have called you to discuss his suitability.

College livery horses are expected to be suitable for lessons and jumping, so I doubt he wouldn't be accepted anyway, if he's not a jumper. I'm sure after careful vetting you will find the right person!
 
i have a horse for loan and got a text this morning saying
"Where abouts are you and the horse?" I did reply but thought it rude for someone to TEXT in response to an advert. Kirsty sounds hilarious tho! well done for keeping the conversation going
 
i agree!! i had some similar texts from kids when bailey was up for share! and yes, they wouldnt have a horse only suitable for hacking at a college - they do a couple of hours a day in the school doing flat or jumping and hardly any hacking - far from ideal!!lol!! good luck finding the right person

I've just had the exact same thing, literally 2 minutes ago! Mine was local to me though. Wanted to loan my horse, I said he's only for sale. Got "awwww well if u change ur mind i'll be interested x"

What's with the kisses? I feel like reporting them for sexual harrassment...
 
hes advertised every where lol i only kept it going as I'm noisy lol 2 noisy for my own good. He wouldn't go to collage full stop and yeah i was tempted to txt back call me as my ads do say CALL for more details but hey ho. thats her spelling mistakes not mine by way
 
I must admit I haven't seen your adverts and have only recently stopped looking - have you tried horsemart and new rider - they were my regular places to look.
 
I put my horse on loan to someone over a face book message I received off a friend of a friend, we had a few messages and a chat on FB first

He then come out to try him though and is also keeping him at the same yard as my other 2, so I can make sure they are both ok and so far they are both getting on really well (only 4 weeks so far)

nothing wrong with a text, especially if like me she is on dolphin pay as you go, which means even when you run out of credit you can still text, i get 600 free texts which last for month from the date i top up by £20. I respond to EVERYTHING by text or email, very rearly do i actually have a telephone conversation.
 
QR had something along the same lines last year when advertising a newly backed full TB for sale, can I have him for college on loan, errrr.....no, but they wouldnt take no for an answer, just gave up being polite in the end and told it as it was. Strange thing was that they were never able to take calls only texts, had a bad feeling about it.
 
i think it is very, very rude to respond to an advert by text and would have either not replied at all or replied with 'please call for details.'

I simply don't reply to texts unless they simply say "is the horse still for sale?" in which case I then will reply "yes please call me if interested". I'm sorry but texts are annoying, and if you can't afford the cost of a phone call you probably can't afford to look after my horse either.
 
I text a couple of people who provided mobile numbers in their adverts, but only to say "hi, is your horse still for sale? Would it be convinient to call you this evening?", as I was looking during the daytime and many people can't use their phones at work. I would also never use text slang.

I too had texts when selling a horse and I always replied saying " yes he's still for sale, please call me if you're ineterest", sending it twice if they didn't get the idea, and ignoring further texts.

So not true!!! I made over a £100 of calls and still hadn't found a horse so I started texting asking if the horse was still for sale and where, as so many didn't put a town. I get free texts on my contract but was soon going way over my 700 min. If people didn't answer I presumed the horse was sold and moved on

I often text first to say is he/she still for sale/loan as so many people do not update adverts and one person I phoned got very annoyed with me for phoning.

I also think it is less intrusive and ask when it is suitable for me to phone. A couple have just phoned me straight back.

I would never text for further details although when I bought unseen I did ask if I could ask questions by email so I had a record of what I had asked and hadn't.
 
Probably not a scam but quite annoying. When we had Beano for sale as an unbroken 3yo I had a text from a child in Scotland asking if we could send him up there as her parents were going to buy her a pony! I would certainly ignore this person.
 
I would of texted back after the second reply 'please ring for more details',you can tell a lot from someones voice. I have had texts from people replying to loans/shares before and thats what i do and it seems to work cos if they are the real deal they ring and i have a chat with them,if they arn't i hear no more and it saves wasting my time!

I hate it when people text ?'s regarding an advert,but it's usually teenagers,none of my horses are open to anyone under 18 when i advertise them,it's just a thing i have!
