would you use an app to sell your horse ?

An app which did what? An app alone can't sell the horse - it would have to link to a sales website somehow.

surely thats just like an advertising webpage - like H&H - where you put in height age etc and it filters out ones you dont want?? I know Im not very tekkie but what would be the difference?

This - it's only as good as the information put in. You can create web-pages that automatically convert to mobile version depending on what device you are using, I'm not sure I see adavantages of an app. Having said that I haven't found a horse selling site that has a decent user friendly search facility. They are all pretty rubbish.

No because I would never sell my horse(s)

/\ this.

Also no offence OP but there's loads of these already...they work fine. Preloved comes in app format (you put in criteria) and it comes up with 100s of pages of horses. I found Diva that way. H&H, gumtree, etc. all work the same way - you imput search fields and it finds them for you!

No - that's just an advertising site. You're fishing in a very over fished pool already. Other companies have spent a lot of money setting up sites and establishing a reputation and an audience. Would I use something else? Possibly if it was free and I was desperate. But that isn't going to offer a decent selling experience - or in fairness money for its designer. There are so many sites which do this already.

Thinking about this a bit more.

I suppose the advantage would be if there was a minimal fee for putting your horse on there. This would avoid expensive advertising costs and could be instantaneous, like uploading and updating photos.

As a buyer you could save your searches a bit like the Rightmove app. So an area search with google maps link etc.

I think that could work if the search was good and the information put in decent.

thinking more precise filters so you dont get loads of people ringing up who arent suitable. if they dont match they cant get their details

As in the current owner filters the profiles of those who can see their horse's ad?

I can vaguely see that being popular (espec for those who want e.g. a comp home/turn out/light weight rider/etc) but it would hardly be ethical as once horse is sold the new owner can sell it on/change their management/have it shot the next day if they feel like it - so it would rather be providing reassurance that doesn't exist. And you'd hardly be checking the references of potential buyers so it wouldn't filter out the determined lunatic/delusional - although might possibly eliminate most spontaneous nusince contact.

Another whose first reaction was no. However, a website/app that brought different selling sites together like Rightmove, Onthemarket and others do for the property market might be useful.
