As in 2004 out of date!

Just found half a tin at the bottom of a grooming box, and as its so expensive, it seems a shame to waste it!

I'm thinking it will be safe to use but if anything it just won't be as potent?!

Would you?

I wouldn't use a lotion or medication that was 8 years out of date on myself no matter how expensive, so there is no way I'd use it on my horse I'm afraid!

Not after the problems with out of date cat spot on flea treatments.

Number of cats died after owners used these. Out of date and had been stored in the sun.

Happy to use an out of date tin of beans etc, but will not risk anything medical/chemical etc.

a month or two out of date and I would call the vet/farm shop who sells it and ask their opinion and dare say unless they said a def no then I would use it but only on horses I had already used it on in the past.

That much out of date - no way, I wouldn't even be opening the lid on it!

I wouldnt. According to the fact sheet. Cypermethrin the active ingredient in Deosect. Rather than being a single chemical, is a mixture of several similar chemicals Cypermethrin itself is stable below 220 degrees celsius. However, it is broken down when in alkaline conditions and (by sunlight) when in solution with water so if its been there since 2004 its likely being broken down and altered over time so wouldn't be the safest....
