I am currently in the process of my University Final Year business module and have been given the task of coming up with and pitching a new product. My group and I have come up with a cup holder that can be attached to stable doors, arena fencing etc so that the horse won't knock those important cups of tea or coffee off whilst plaiting, giving no need to balance the instructors mug on the arena fence during lessons etc. Although potentially a silly idea we think it would be actually quite useful for around the yard!

The holder would sit on a coaster-like base, with adjustable sliding clips on the bottom to adjust for a variety of surfaces. There would be a stem upwards and a 'clip' system to secure the mug.

The next task is market research.. I would be hugely grateful if anybody could possibly answer a few short quick questions on the following link so that the data can be considered for our work task!

Yes, yes, yes! I take travel mugs of tea and leave them balanced on my wee cupboard outside my stable, but it's in prime position to get knocked over.

I use a standard travel mug and put it on the floor or on the cupboard top. At a pinch, I could secure it to the stable bars using the tie up baling twine loop.

Yes, definitely! I'm forever losing cups of tea because I've got nowhere to sit them. Something that would allow me to keep it safe on my stable door would be amazing!

yeeees I'd use that! Also would be great for people in other professions too where they aren't sat at a desk and are on the move. Sounds fab :)

** Edited to say - I did the survey, hope it helps, I suggested an "extender" for biscuits haha.

In principle I like the idea but I think you need to sell and market this as a cup and cup holder together. I make my cuppa at home in an insulated travel mug and take it to the farm with me where I drink it whilst mucking out, grooming, tacking-up etc as it stays hot for an hour or so. Travel mug prevents any bits getting into my drink. You could sell the holder with a normal mug designed to fit the holder or with a travel mug.
