Nope - I quite often give my horse a 'fake' feed of a handful of chaff when I ride after work so she doesn't think shes got to wait for her supper

Depends on the level of work you're going to do - it sounds like a small snack for my two so I probably wouldn't wait.

No, that is next to nothing TBH and if I fed this, then took 15 minutes or so to get ready and then 10 minutes of warming up - then it's been left for 25 minutes ish to digest anyway.
Its not as if you'd have horse tacked up ready to go and then feed this so personally I see nothing wrong with feeding this, getting ready and going.

That's what I thought. I tend to feed, poo pick, bring in groom n tack up so prob riding 40 mins after anyway . Good another few mins in bed
