. Yes mine would go past it (they do, some neighbours have these daft things Lol!), even if it is flapping, but then my boys and girls are completely used to weird and wonderful things like this.

will they see it every day from the field or the yard? if so then they probably won't bother. Our estate sells the trees to b&q and homebase all over the country so we get all the big arctics coming thro. thankfully never had a big inflatable tho.
just think, if you have a real tree this year, it might be one that my dog as peed on

It is in our car park about 400 yards from the american barns .
I walked Sol past it today in-hand and she didn't seem bothered but minus the fog tomorrow may be different ...

Actually, I'm not sure. The Moose doesn't seem that bothered by strange *big* things like milk tankers and combine harvesters, so might well not be that bothered by a giant snowman. Its mostly small things like squirrels, hens and dead weed stalks that really upset her.

That's hilarious! Glad it's not near my yard though horses are funny creatures and the things I think mine will be terrified of they don't bother with but 100 yards further on get traumatise by a leaf.

My two would probably hack past it one way without blinking, then have heart attacks passing it on the way back, because they are a bit dense like that. Then again, if something scary like, for example, a bush, happened to be next to it, Murphy would end up climbing the snowman to escape the bush. He often leaps in front of tractors/lorries to escape the hedge demons which follow him out hacking.

And god forbid they saw it from their field - my mare can spot a 'potential threat' 3 miles away, and will gallop around the field until I, and everyone else around, knows how dangerous it is.

at our old yard, which was also a turkey farm , every year a large bale of hay wrapped in black plastic had a turkey head and tail added to it and was stood on top of another round bale. The horses would have a good look but usually go past it without problems

Out of the three at my yard, all of whom I ride:
Berlin (wussy 12yo Anglo Arab) would not go within 100yds of it.
Kit (brave but green 7yo cob) would tentatively follow someone else.
Maiden (my almost bombproof 12yo IDx) would shake and try to bolt off in the other direction, before carefully tiptoeing past
