Wound healing (stitches) ......

Does anyone have any pics of stitches healing perferably within 36 hours .

This recovery process is not helping my nerves .

Madam got 2 sarcoids removed , all looked great but now I am not so sure .

our cob had several sarcoids removed in sept. all wounds fine except one which burst open at one side. vet advised washing with salt water then steroid cream applied which we did a couple of times then he got wise to us and we couldn't safely do it. its since healed well though took a bit longer. good luck.

Thanks for that , How is the wounds now ? Do you have any pics ? Possibly abit early to tell but any signs of regrowth ? What kind of sarcoids did your cob have ?

This is a wound I stitched. It's not 48 hours down the line, but at 48 hours the pony won supreme champion at the international shetland show, so I can only guess it looked ok!!!

I would expect a good heal to look similar to this, dry and no discharge, minimal swelling.

If the wound looks swollen, is discharging etc, then I'd get your vets to check it for piece of mind. It will probably be fine, but better safe than sorry.

he had different types some quite small others smaller on the skin surface then big underneath. three were on his sheath and are thin lines in the skin now. the others including the troublesome one are all healed well and we don't want them back!! your picture shows a very healthy wound, looks like its healing well.
