Has anyone ever seen this on a hock wound?

Vet (not specialist equine vet) has said he isn't too worried about it and that it is 'probably connective tissue'.

when he lifts the leg up it goes in and when he puts the foot down and weight bears on it, it goes back in!

I have over 30 years experience with horses and seen some pretty horrible wounds but not seen anything like this!

P.S waiting for results of a swab which will confirm if there is infection in the joint. Unfortunately, if this is the case (which I suspect it will be) this horse will probably have to be PTS.

I can’t zoom in clearly but the yellow bit looks like a bit of proud flesh to me. I’ve had good results with laser on wounds like this, and especially on proud flesh. I would get some antibiotics in and dress appropriately but wouldn’t give up yet!
