Ok, so my horse has got a small cut just below the fetlock towards the foot. Think she did it on a stubble field yesterday as she came back bleeding bad from a ride. I cleaned the wound with hibiscrub and put ointment on and turned back out after riding; this morning there was some swelling and heat around the fetlock and so I decided that from experience it may be worth trying to flush the cut with salt water which I did this morning and sprayed on some purple spray. Will go back up later to do the same again. I have a couple of sachets Danilon around is it worth giving those to her or no point as only two sachets? As many times as I have been in this sort of situation I am still unsure whether I should not just make a call to the vets anyway just to get some antibiotics... What is your thinking? If it has already started swelling up am I too late with my cleaning procedure and will she need ABs?
