WOW! But would you say this is too careful...

If you look closely it is definately wearing tendon boots on its front legs!
Who goes cross country schooling over large fences wearing tendon boots??

[/ QUOTE ]

It may be a SJing yard and it wont make the top/grade SJing but would be a great eventer...maybe?!?

I disagree that it looks photoshopped - if you look closely at the tail you can see the fence behind it through the strands of hair. Not only would tracing the strands of hair be extremely difficult, but doing it so well that it appears like it does on this image would be very time consuming and intricate, even with PS. The straps etc as well would be difficult. I don't see why anyone would bother, either, to go to all that effort when the horse can obviously jump - it must have been jumping something - why would it matter if it was a showjump?

Something looks wrong about the photo

You could well be right. Just saved it to hard drive then opened it and zoomed in. There is a light fuzzy line tracing the outline of the horse but no where esle on the pic.

Why bother fabricating the ad when the horse can clearly jump?

I think people are too suspicious, looks to me like it is clearing the jump and enjoying itself, certainly potential for me!

Hello, I don't post much - I'm a good lurker!

But just thought I'd add my 2p...

I worked in advertising for years, and know a fair bit about photoshop... I don't think it has been touched... there are tell tale signs...

But just also wanted to say that my parents' 4* horse used to jump even bigger than this when he started out. We have a photo at home over a novice fence that looks even more bizarre.... it looks totally out of proportion, just because he's jumping so high...

Nice horse.

I run a graphic design company - it has not been retouched. (Unless they got a pro retoucher to do it - anything is possible, but this would not have been an easy amateur job!)

Lovely, lovely horse!

It just looks as though it's just being super careful to me.

Check out this still of April doing x country in my signature, it's only 2'6 but she clears it by well over a foot!!
It was when i just started jumping her and although she's an older horse she is an inexperienced jumper and has never, ever touched a jump with me on her... even when we were doing over 3' grids the other day she gave each about a foot clearance LOL.

It's not ideal really as it can be quite scary and hard to sit!

Hes wasted eventing..he should be showjumping! Eventers shouldnt be making air over the jumps, takes too much time. They should be slithering over the top and galloping on. Beautiful beastie though.

Exactly what my original post was about! Can they be too careful to event

I think so! Obviously something that has no respect whatsoever for solid fences isnt going to last long but you dont want the time to knit a jumper while youre waiting for him to come down the other side. Still is a beautiful beastie

!

agree it just doesn't look photoshopped at all unless it was done by a serious pro. I could just about pull that off but we are talking probably hours to ensure the tail and mane and light is correct and convincing. Yes looks a bit iffy in places but they are all explainable things that do not stem from editing the photo.
