Wow! Does anyone's have a mane and tail to rival this?

Sorry but I think it looks like the equine equivalent of an overly-clipped puff-ball poodle.

It is impressive that they can get the mane and tail to grow and be so long, but not my cup of tea! And what on earth have they done with his feathers????

Ugh not my cup of tea - I mean, that mane is so long
Me, I like a shortish tail with a neatly pulled short mane ;)

Fantastic to be riding some GP movements in a sidesaddle :D

Probably an idiot question but would it be possible for the horse to stand on it's own tail as it's so long??

Beautiful ! :) Ive always wanted a Freisan but they are a bit too expensive ... !
Feathers are wierd though....

Ive seen certain show breeds who have tails grown so long they trail along the ground when brushed out fully and are kept bagged to keep intact normally... :S

Wow thanks for that, what a beautiful horse, not sure about the feathers though, I tried to grow my horses mane as he is short coupled and it suits him but it doesn't get that long! fairly high maintenance but I'm sure he's not short of a groom or two. I love Friesians, they always look smart

seen a longer mane than that.no pics though.years ago my mares grandsire had a mane down to his knees...thicker than that one though.

Not really my cup of tea either I'm afraid. I would imagine it's a beautiful horse but it's hard to tell under all that hair-you can't really see it properly. That forelock must be a hindrance to it's vision?

I couldn't get past the feathers! Either leave them on or take them off!

Impressively hairy but like PF am shuddering at the thought of the maintenance.

Karran, Yes, quite possible for horses to stand on their own tails. I had an arab who would frequently stand on hers in the stable, yet when she was out and her tail was up it only just reached her hocks.

Mostly long tails are plaited and bagged.

Where's that clip with the horse with the 12' tail?

Wow! Thanks for posting that Enfys! I've seen pictures of long tails but always assumed it was some kind of clip on extension!

It's an absolutely gorgeous horse (I'm quite partial to Friesians, even though I'm generally a fan of greys)
But, my god, that's one hell of a poofy tail! You can see it come out from either side when you're looking at him straight on XD

And here's me thinking the gypsy cob that my mum's friend owns had a hell of a tail and mane...

Plus it makes my mum's Thoroughbred's tail look even more pathetic than it already does
