at a show last weekend, i tacked up my mare for the riding horse class (without saddle cloth) and was shocked to see that, after i had been on her back 10-15 mins, the saddle was sat completely down on her withers, no daylight, no finger room. as its a thorowgood T4, when i rode her the next day i put the large fish in, and all i can say is WOW.....my poor horse, its no wonder she was tight through her back and shoulders, and finding it hard to work in a nice outline....
i never thought that 4mm of plastic could make such a difference, but the fit is now amazing, and she can actually move now! i feel so bad about not noticing before; i think its a good idea to try the saddle on every now and again without a saddle cloth! and i would recommend the thorowgood to anybody; they are truly amazing!
