Wow! Much thanks to AAD for advice

Rocky has had his gentle leader for just two days and all I can say is WOW! So much thanks for all who recommended it.

We went to the yard today in it and I was able to muck out etc without Rocky sending me flying to run off to smell a poo

He has taken to it straight away and stays next to me with a nice slack lead - this from the dog that when he got excited lost all his manners and would tow you along!

I can now let my mum take him for a walk safely.

Not only that, he actually loves it. When it comes out he comes up and sticks his nose in the hole for it to go on.

Are these the same as Haltis? ive never heard of them before.

They are pretty much exactly the same, the halti has extra "cheek pieces" and I personally find the fit on them to be poorer than the gentle leader, but yep they do the same job.

i found the halti`s cheek pieces ( /\ mentioned above ) too near my boys eyes.

the GL is great,i am now only using ours for the 1st 5 mins of the walk or i pop it on if he stops listening.

That's where we're hoping to get to - only needing it at the start of a walk or if we are somewhere especially exciting.
