I will stick to my leather saddle thanks, I really don't get the whole 'cover the pony in as many colours and bright bits of tack as possible' and I don't think I would have done if I were 10 years younger (19 atm).
It's actually quite hard to find a 14" extra wide synthetic with knee rolls at a good price. Unfortunatly they don't to this one in black, otherwise it would be perfect. I would buy him the blue one and a black one. Shires do do an xwide 14 " but it hasnt got knee rolls.
Wide and extra wide only I think. I saw the catalogue yesterday - was about to order one when I realised my bum was too big and I couldn't see any matching stirrup leathers anyway.
Great for under tens, but they make the bridles up to cob size. Mine would be too embarrassed to be seen in one.
If it gets bums in saddles and encourages the next generation, and as long as it fits, then why not?
Riding for everyone, especially children should be fun, I am all for giving them a bit of a helping hand. It would go with the blue, or pink bridles, girths etc. I have seen coloured stirrup irons and didn't one of the catalogues have coloured bits in a while back? I sling a sheepskin over all my saddles anyway so it would be wasted on me.
