Got our dog registration forms in today, checked ages.
The orginial family pet, golden retriever is a grand total of twelve years old. a little stiff, but a lively old lady, and not detiorated in the past six or seven years
Then my lab, who is 6yrs and has bad arthritis, currently limps even on metacam
and finally the mutt who is 4yrs 6months and aside from a benign tumour removal, in the picture of health.
They really have aged so fast!

One of our doggies (hungarian viz) was the picture of health until she was about 16. She got a little stiff then, wouldn't leave the house in cold weather, and one day she was just gone

The other was 12 when she died, a cocker spaniel. My gran's dog (JRT) is four, and allready looking old.

One minute they are pups the next minute they are in there teens. Our old collie is now 16 and he is getting over Vestibular syndrome.Apart from being abit deaf and stiff he is pretty healthy. But his stiffness is getting better now he is on Metacam.

I love old dogs, they have had years to build up their characters - and they are so easy to live with. This is my Vizsla, Nova, she will be 14 in April this year. Apart from being a bit stiff she is fit and well. The metacam does the trick for her and my 13 yr old Lab, Ben.
