I have a WOW saddle and am finding I get sore on long hacks (always had this problem, no matter what saddle) WOW made me a seat with extra padding to be as comfy as possible, but still get rather uncomfortable, if you know what I mean! Looking at seat savers, but unsure if they'll actually fit a WOW saddle due to its design??? Anyone got any idea? And any recommendations for seat savers?

I have a heather Moffat gel seat saver, very comfy although years old, they are very adjustable with tapes, so I am sure you will get one to fit.

I still get saddle sores on my derriere:) if I do too much walking, so advocate lots of trotting & cantering:)

I think the heather moffat / gel foam feedmark type will be fine on a wow. They aren't that much different to a normal saddle and I have put a sheep skin one on mine

On another rather random note you could consider weird stirrups to be able to stand up more to er relieve the pressure!! I am using Kvall sitrrups out hunting and they allow me to go for 15 - 20 miles in no lower back pain and mainly stood up.

Gosh never heard of these!! :)

I suffer awfully with my back - have scoliosis, which was the reason for the WOW as it could be adjusted to even me out so my curvature affects my horse a lot less. But my back is generally quite weak, so something like this might be good. Are those stirrups expensive? And are they BS/BD legal?

I was worried the seat savers wouldn't fit as the WOW saddles have no skirts (is that the right bit that I'm thinking of?) How do the heather moffat ones fit - as it is those that have been recommended?

Well stirrups are not BS legal as BS said they will go with what BE say and they have rejected them until the maker can get some tests run to have scientific data backing the stirrup.

However its all a bit off as other stirrups are not tested, but hey ho at least might finally prove these are better! Basically its the back strap concerned BE, but they won't physically look at them, so don't realise the back can be pulled off with your little finger, so just a few kg and you are free.

In theory should be much 'safer' than standard stirrup as you cannot get help up in the K'vall - now the small matter of proving it !

The BD have not been approached, so I don't know their stance.

They are retailing for £145 including leathers, so cheaper than sprengers, but not that cheap.

The heather moffat / thick gel foam seat savers don't have loops under the thigh, so fit the wow nicely (plus are the thickest ones you can get!!)

Not about seat savers, but have you seen the Mary Wanless back brace/support. If you back is weak something like that might help. I was considering it, but fortunately Alexander Technique has helped my with my posture enough so that I can start exercising again.
