Wow saddle Q - curved or flat tree

Just a quick Q .......

How do you know if your wow saddle has a curved or a flat tree? Is there any way of telling??

Have a look at the date stamp on the flaps (you have to undo it). If they are not late 08 / 2009, then its a curved tree.

mine is a 2009 saddle on a curved tree - don't see what the date has to do with it, surely it is just what suits the horse?

They didn't start making them until late 2008, so if your saddle is older then it will be a curved tree.

If its a younger saddle I would assume you bought it from new and would know!!!

Anyway the other way is to take the panels off and look at it on a flat on surface the difference is quite easily to spot as the curved won't sit flat on a smooth surface.

Took it apart and had a look no date stamp but certainly curved!

Thinking of buying one for my youngsters whats your findings on this saddle. Can you try one out and if so I have heard that you need a good fitter are there any in Essex?
