Does anyone have any experience with these saddles. I've tried the curved tree and liked it but it didnt fit my horse. The flat tree fits him but i dont like sitting in it. has anyone had the same problem?

Have you tried the deep seat built on a flat tree, or are you trying the flat seat with the flat tree? The latter is very flat, I agree! I have no idea what the deep seat on the flat tree is like, they've only been doing them a short time.

HATE THEM
cannot stand them absolutely everyone i have sat on does not fit, and they are all different styles different fitters etc so its not like just one person cant fit them, they are horrible to ride in and weigh and absolute tonne, one i rode in had such amssive thick pannels you could hardly get your leg on or feel anything either

Not my experience. Most Ive seem fit well - some fitters are rubbish but most are good. The new tree's are no where near as heavy and weight the same as most standard leather saddles. And massively thick panels and too far from the horse means they're over filled!

as cptrays said - was the seat a a flat XC seat? The newer tree's can have either tree type in any seat style, the older ones (pre late 2008) only have the XC seat with a flat tree.

agree with Kallibear - mine's fab, never found one that's uncomfy or doesn't fit. I struggled for ages to get a saddle that fitted my lad, and mine is brilliant, comfy, fits him, me and OH, doesn't move and i love it. Had it 5 years now and won't change it if I can get away with it.

I've found that the seat does make a difference to the fit - those who have tried the extra deep seat would feel above the horse, but then its the same in any saddle that deep and not actually a WOW-ism.

I use the flat seats, and whilst yes they don't hold you in position, they are perfectly comfy and allow you to move.

I have one horse that I can use a flat seat, but not an extra deep as it simply doesn't fit him. These are in theory both on curved Y bars and this is using the same panel and gullet!

I have one extra deep, one deep old, one deep new weight, one flat and one cross country (and I used to have a shallow but swapped it for the cross country) and I have them all with the same panel type and all of them fit my horses the same and are exactly the same feel as far as how close to the horse I am. I had one seat which was overfilled with foam and very uncomfortable. I sent it back and had it altered. It was a phase they went through about 4 years ago that they have corrected since.

WOW's certainly aren't close contact saddles, but neither are lots of others, including Amerigos at £3,000 which are actually designed to lift right off the horses back under the riders seat, as the back moves. I do find even the lighter seat heavier than other saddles, but I love them because my horses do and because I can fit them precisely as they grow older or change with the seasons. (I have a pump).

The only problem I've ever had is that there are a lot of horses who are sensitive to the airbag overlap (even my roughty toughty hunter) and I would never use them without a very thin gel pad (geleze or equivalent), which stops the lumps they otherwise get after a long ride without altering the fit.

I've bought a lot of them second hand off eBay and been amazed by the incredible amount of air some of them have had in when they arrive. It's obviously a problem with some fitters that they are using too much air and they must be like riding on a space hopper. No wonder people hate them if their fitters are doing that with them.....
