I have an Amerigo single flap close contact event saddle and I've ridden in a devoucoux event saddle
There's no difference in either of them, both very nice to ride in, but I agree with AliBabe....the fitting is more for the rider than the horse.
I've come across "Sue Carson Saddles" and they really are the perfect Saddle. They are made to fit the horse underneath and the rider on top. They are fitted with that flair system (air pumped in equally on each side) and they do a range of saddles from dressage to event.
