Hey there,
I am contemplating a WOW saddle. I would like a dressage saddle that can easily be changed into a jumping saddle when needed. HAs anyone got one and what are your thougths on it. How much is one brand new on average and my local fitter is Nickie Maderford. Has anyone used her before? Any help and advice needed.

My memory of my wow’s isn’t that the flaps were easily changed, in fact I had a gp and a dressage saddle (both wow’s)

They’re definitely marmite and having a good fitter is key, as it is with any saddle, but they aren’t as readily available as other fitters, that’s part of the reason I sold mine, the fitter was dreadful

I have (used on old horse) a WOW saddle and both dressage and GP flaps. These were all older second hand seat/panels /flaps - and whereas they could be interchanged - six screws - but was a lot more effort to align etc - than six screws sounds (possibly easier with new saddle).

I often ended up hacking in the dressage flaps.

I certainly wouldn't want to be doing this between phases of a one day event or similar.

A further point to note is if your fitter assembles your saddle with an electric screwdriver can you undo with a screwdriver yourself.

I've got a dressage on one of mine but I wouldn't want to be changing flaps at speed or under pressure (ie ODE) without a lot of practice.

I love both of my saddles but my fitter is excellent

I ocasionally ride in one- Its a GP and 19" (to fit the owner) so way way too big for me but I really like it! I find it very comfortable, far more comfy for me to ride in than my own which i get quite achy in.
Nickie Maddaford used to teach my daughter dressage and she loved having lessons with her. Can't vouch for her saddle fitting but she is a nice person with a good eye.
