Sorry, not really CR, but I know there are some fellow Wow users in here!

So, I have a Wow on my big boy and love it, so now my filly is rising 4 I'm thinking of getting her one too.

She's pretty well muscled naturally (not yet in work, only lightly backed), round ribbed, and has a moderate wither, which I think will continue to grow. I therefore think she'd be an SDWG panel.

However, I've found a few SDWGs for sale second hand, and every single one has a stitchline. I don't think she'll need a stitchline, but considering i haven't seen a single one without I'm now wondering if they even make a stitchline free SDWG?

Happy to call Wow direct, but wondered if anyone on here knew the answer?

Yes they do, and I have one, but they are less common. No horse I have ever had is bothered about the stitch line. Neither are they bothered if it doesn't have one. With stitchline is the default, which is why there are more of them.

Ahh, thanks.

I don't really "get" the whole stitchline thing. I know the theory that one gives "lift" and the other doesn't but in my mind having a stitchline just reduces the bearing area of the panel?

My big boy has a DWG without stitchline and I'd really like to find an SDWG without.. but it's how long I have to wait for one to come up (been looking casually for 6 months already)!

The stitchline does hold the airbag in place more securely. I don't think my panels without a stitchline are quite symmetrical, the airbag is a tad higher in one than the other. My understanding was that they made the without a stitchline, on request, for horses that are very senstitive and feel the line. What size/type/colour of saddle are you looking for for your mare, I have three spare all with SDWG panels, due to losing a horse last year and I only need one of them. PM me if you don't want the thread reported :)

Apologies for hijacking, but rather than start a new thread and it is related.....

...you can have stitch lines taken out and put back by WoW. Can tabs be removed??

The airbag is the same in the tabbed panel and you can remove the tab yourself. As it happens, I did one this week for a horse who didn't fit the tab. The panel is velcroed shut, and the airbag is folded over, If you undo the velcro and unfold the bag, you can use it like that, though it's not totally pretty it is completely hidden by a wool collared numnah.

You could also easily remove the stitchline yourself and put foam at the bottom of the panel, just like WOW would do.

Go for it, I'm still learning about them too so very happy for more q's to be raised! Good job we have our own expert on here, thank you CPTrayes! (PM'd you btw).

Now, I was told (by Wow) you couldn't take the stitchlines out because of the foam and air bag separation requirement? (I know this because a friend of mine is looking for DWGs without stitchline and also can't find any!)

Well I don't know what they mean, because I have a couple of unstitched ones, and as far as I can tell by unzipping them and sticking my hand into the panel, there is just a piece of foam at the bottom which is holding the airbag up and stopping it dropping right to the bottom, nothing else. I could remove the airbags altogether and have a look, but I don't think I'd find anything different if I did :D

Another hint for anyone with a leaky bag. Take it out and blow it up and put it in water to find out where the leak is. Let it dry totally and superglue it. I had one with a hole in the seam several millimetres long, and about 4 or 5 other microscopic holes. I superglued the whole seam two years ago and it's still going strong. WOW were stunned when I told them!

Ah-ha, I'll pass this onto my friend then (although she's perfectionist so will bet my bottom dollar she won't do it ;0) !!)
