WOW shes so good!

hi all i have just returned from my yard and i noticed that my 12.2 mare was going like a show pony!!! its amazing as shes a school pony and is worked up to 5 hours a day!!! is there any tips you guys might have to keep her going light?? so that it is easyer for all the diddy little kids? also great news, my mum agreed to let me show =D x

Don't let her be used 5 hours a day in a riding school? Sorry but that is waaaaaay too much IMHO. However quite possibly the instructor is putting v good little jockeys on her and instructing them well

well RE: the hours shes used 3-5 at weekeds each day, and up to 3 during the week apart from tues and thurs which is only when i ride and school her ill speak to manager about cutting hours

My god 5 hrs a day!!! At the yard where i work the horses would go on strike!!!!! They only do 30 - 60 mins a day if that during the week and about 2 - 3 hrs at weekends.

5 hours is waaaaay too much work imo.
I have been told my boy will have to do at least 3 hours work every day at this certain uni I want to go to. They woudln't specify what work this was but it certainly was to include ridden work. If they are wanting to ride him for going on 3 hours at a time even for just one day I will not be taking him.
It is far too much so I think 5 hours is just stupid!

mine used to do three and that was why i moved him - felt so sorry for him - now does 2 very maximum and has thuesday off and only me at weekends. and friday oms off !!!!

would not expect any horse to do 5 hours and then try to be a show pony
