Rode my mare this morning, just 2nd time in 12 weeks now and I can only say that I promise not to call her boring again !!

As soon as I got up onto the top of the moor, the strong arctic winds hit us and we could both see the waves of hail heading our way!

I daren't turn straight back as I knew I would never hold her so we made a 20 minute arc, but even that didn't fool her!

So whilst the hail was beating down on us and we are going down a steep incline to get home she starts bucking and squealing - great!

Oh I just can't wait for tomorrow's ride!!

We rode yesterday for the first time in a fortnight. My sons old pony was fine, just whizzy as usual but the young pony who I was on had complete steering and brake failure. We ended up doing loops in a ploughed field.
Have just got back this morning and she has returned to normal, thankfully.
No sleet here though, sunny all the way!

I rode yesterday for the first time in a week......horse on springs and just managing to keep to grass verge off the ice until 2 horses in field over hedge gallop up and we leap onto the icey patch........ hairy and don't want to repeat in a hurry. Fine today though, i can cope with wind and rain. we didn't get hail though luckily!

Well done Ravenwood - perhaps not the most ideal conditions to ride in! I hate hail when it comes at you sideways!
I rode today for the first time in a fortnight. Jerry was very lively but still sensible, in fact he was lovely to ride - very forward going. I met a friend on her horse while I was out and usually Jerry can't keep us with his walk but today it was Jerry who was striding out and his little friend trotting to keep up!
