So what do we think - natural or extensions?

Also, I am hopeless with breeds - what breed do we think this is? They cant seem to agree on facebook!!

I believe it's natural, some horses have the genes to grow really long manes & tails just like some people can grow floor length hair. As for the breed I would say Andalusian or Lusitano

Wonder why the tail is so wispy though - it doesn't seem in keeping with the mane.

Agreed, believe its a PRE or Luso - saw some amazing manes when i went to the last BAPSH championship show! god only knows how they keep them clean though

Regarding the tail - have noticed that PRE's often dont tend to have the most fantastic tails...also think this one looks worse as its being swished...

Look a whole lot different after a wet mornings cubbing.

On the plus side one could make a safety harness out of the mane and have a better chance of keeping said creature between one's arse and mother natures carpet.

Errr, I believe, PRE (Pura Raza Española) meaning pure something along the lines of 'the pure spanish breed' - is the correct term for the generalised term of an andalusiAn

I've seen this horse before. I think he is in the USA. He is an Andalusian, but not sure if he is a PRE. A PRE has to be registered with the Spanish Studbook, which is controlled by ANCCE. They used to be called Andalusians but the Spanish decided that, as they weren't all bred in Andalusia, this was incorrect and renamed them Pura Raza Espanola.

I like long manes, but I think this is going too far!

It is an American PRE (or properly registered Andalusian)

Personally I dislike those overgrown manes
