was just wondering if i can get away with using leg wraps on my mares back legs in the stable. I put bandages on her hinds as she has a locking stifle and they sometimes fill overnight (neither problem ocurs if bandages are put on- not sure why tis works for the stifle but it does) but I'm getting far too old to bend down so much and would like a quicker/easier solution so have looked at stable wraps but not convinced they will do any more than keep her legs warm. do they offer any support at all ? are some better than others ?

Wraps win every time for me.

The brand i use are better than bandages as the have 5 thick elesticated tapes so do the same job as bandages but take seconds to put on and off and then tension is more even than bandages which can move if not done right or chewed like my horse does.

I have these ones- colin cook thermatex leg wraps

I used to bandage in the stable but I recently bought some Equilibrium stable wraps. They are shaped to the leg and fit snug. I'm quite impressed with them. My horses legs sometimes fill - wraps are definately better than nothing but I think the legs fill slightly more in wraps than when they have bandages on.
