Anyone use them,or can recommend any?? I did a summer deep litter muck out at weekend..and seem to have very painfull wrists, whilst doing it and after!!

Not even sure if wrist supports exsist...mmmmmn "dragons den":rolleyes:

They do, I used to have to wear them for mounted games cause I hurting my wrist when I vaulted. Its like a very tight elasticy thing that goes over your hand, I got mine from the pharmacy. Its very usefull for polocrosse aswell :)

Boots sell neoprene wrist supports, they are not bad at the job. I am currently using a 'proper' orthotic splint on my wrist (long story with original damage break 18 months ago, made worse by not looking after it at all, including riding in the rain for 3 hours in a traditional pot) Before I was referred for the splint I was using one of the ones from Boots, they are not very robust I found and if you are doing yard jobs in them they end up being stretched and the thumb hole grows! But they are not bad for the money. Hope your wrist gets better soon. :)

i've never used a wrist support but recently started using ankle supports as my ankles get very painful when riding (for no reason at all) and theyve worked really well. I got them from a sports shop and they did wrist supports and others awell fairly cheaply. :)

Longsdale do good ones - if you can find them. Try sports direct as it's alot cheaper than other sports shops.

Also, try tubi-grips (those long white ones that you can cut down) as you can wash them, so you don't worry about them , however they are only good for a few wears as they stretch and become a bit useless after a while.

Hi The £ shop sells all sorts of neoprene supports for wrists, knees etc for guess what, yes a £. OH bought knee ones last week and I bouught a back one today, havent tried it out yet though, but for the price should be ok, hope this helps:)

You have to be careful with wrist supports as wearing them whilst doing things can actually make you use your hands differently/over compensate and then cause you other problems. I had carpal tunnel syndrome and my Dr advised me to wear wrist splints at night (when sleeping I mean) and it worked.

Boots do a good range and you can buy the tubular bandage which you just trim and cut a thumb hole in. However I am not sure if a wrist support is what you need. The problem with wrist pain and discomfort after heavy work is that it can actually originate in the elbow where the ligaments get pulled and nerves get pinched. Supporting the wrist does not then always improve the discomfort (took me a physio session to find why my wrist supports were not helping).

Try running your thumb firmly up the main muscle on the top of your forearm towards the elbow. If this muscle feels tight and tender then you need a strap to go on this muscle to stop it pulling on your elbow and wrist when you do any lifting or heavy work. Also massaging this muscle to strip out the tension improves tenderness in the wrist.
