hi all
I took beau for our first proper jumping lesson last week and I've been practicing one of the exercises I was given as we were a bit wobbly.
the exercise consists of a placing pole 6ft (half a stride) in front of a jump. you trot to it and pick up canter over the pole then pop the jump.
anyways, beau had a bit of a wobble with the placing pole the first time but he soon got the idea and managed to stay straight after the jump, which was something we needed to work on.
I did notice that we struggled to get the correct canter lead after the jump.
I made sure I was in the centre of the jump and that our get away was straight.
any ideas?
