WTF!!! Disgusting!!

Unfortunately I've seen this before. It's awful what humans can do to beautiful animals. Makes me sick to my core to think they continue to do such things.

If you see the blocks that are nailed to their hooves too, that's awful :(

Oh my god that is horrific! I could only watch a few seconds and now it is burned into my mind's eye - music and all.

How on earth have animal welfare people over there not got involved? Absolutely sick.

the 2 yo one is particularly horrific those are not well muscled well developed horses capable of carrying men of that size. the back legs look like chickens leg wobbly under so much stress they really look like they are struggling how anyone thinks that making a horse go as unnaturally as this from such a young age whatever methods they use

id like to nail blocks to the owners feet and see how they like it!! its bloody awful and just plain wrong, untill i saw that i didnt think a horse could physically move like that. poor poor horses :(

In the Walking Horse Community, the old show people are the ones who like this horrid abuse. The law has been changed so this sort of shoeing etc. has been changed/eliminated.

2 years ago the government animal welfare people showed up at the Shelbyville, Tennessee national walking horse show. Immediately the majority of the competitors put their horses back in their box and they left like roaches from a light. The show was cancelled, no one less to compete.

It is obscene looking and very ridiculous to consider this as somehow nice to watch.

Now if Rolkur could be ended too!

The horse breed in the first video is a saddle bred, or show morgan. Not a twh.
TheyHave show shoes on its feet which is why they look so big, show shoes are like the horse having high heels on.
A lso the saddles are made to long for backs so that they dig in brining the front end up.
As for traning think wire and chain bits. Weighed over reach boots, chains round the felocks, and a bungie that ties the front legs together, all work to make legs snap up

The Govt ARE involved however it's so currupt, they get paid to shut up by the owners. The givt know this and set up another band of people but like someone said, they pack up and go home making it really hard.

With prize funds as high as $250,000 they will literally do anything to get it. If you read my link, you'll see that the only way to stop this is to stop the money.

"Now in memory of Susan Gordon loving owner and rider of the Specialist"

Loving?!?! bloody cruel more like... well at least thats one less 'loving' owner on earth!!

There has been threads about this before.

It's absolutely heartbreaking, these horses must spend their lives in pain, they're not even allowed to grow up first, FFS!

Anyone whothinks that this is attractive must be sick. They ought to ban 'Big Lick' comps altogehter, that would help put a stop to it, surely?

what i find particularly disgusting is how some people (not on here some of the comments on youtube) can make excuses and say that this is their 'natural gait' and its not cruel the horses enjoy having all those contraptions and chains strapped to their legs makes me physically wince seeing the horses back legs under so much strain

Really not a fan of this. Makes me feel sick. Feel so sorry for the horses. Can't have those awful big licks taken off because their tendons are too short for them to stand normally.

They look like a sodding rocking horse when they canter.

The angle of their back legs is just truly truly horrific.
