Hello there
I've got a very active and a little clumsy 5 year old horse who always seems to hurt himself while playing when turned out (which is daily during day light hours). He has got a splint now and already knocked that splint twice in the last 3 months. To prevent further growth by idiotic behaviour, my vet and me decided to put on splint boots during turnout. I am, however, a bit afraid to do so because of possible overheating of the tendons. I already tried a couple of options (thanks to this forum) but have not found the ideal protection yet.
He's turned out in Lemieux mesh brushing boots which are thickly enough padded in the inside and are ventilated; however the "leather" striking part is not ventilated and therefore I am a bit worried about heating the legs when it gets summer.
I tried Trizone all sports boots (within one day shred to pieces, also not anatomical formed and rubbing), PE air xc boots (to hard shell because of the splint) and HUSK boots (look and feel great, however I don't think they prevent knocks against the splint)
Now I came across the woof wear Ivent Hybrid boots on the internet. They look very promising; light weight, breathable, available in white (reflecting sun) and sturdy enough. However I cannot find a single review of these boots. Does any one of you have experience with these boots? As I am from the Netherlands and no shop at all sells these things here, I cannot have a look at them in real life
