hi, I'm shopping for a horse, just wondered if anyone had any experience with this place? good or bad. personally I've had bad experiences with dealers, so I'm loathed to go to any. just I know there must be some good 1's out there. but is this 1 of them?

thanks

I really liked the look of the palaminos, always wanted 1. shame they're both sold.

OMG, she'd be soooo perfect. Now to book my ticket to wales

shame she's not a few years older, tho i seriously am tempted. she's very nice. if she was up here i'd be off like a shot lol

I don't know much about Drumcarrow, I'm afraid. However, my mother in law, Maureen Taylor, has a very good reputation for being able to match the right horse to any rider. She is not a dealer, but we have a riding school/holiday centre and always keeps a nice selection of all round, athletic horses for sale - let me know what you are looking for!!

Very very near to me. Not my sort of yard, far to many 'wannabees' however the horses are generally good, honest sorts. (Tried a couple last year) Angus will talk your ear off with a lot of show but he's relatively harmless.

Where are you?

yeah she's lovely too, bit over budget tho. 3,000 is the absolute max.
i'm buying with a friend so i'm looking for something that will do us both. i've posted on another forum about what we're looking for, but you have to be a member to see it

i'll copy and paste what i put as its pretty long I'm on a search for a horse for myself and a friend. we are looking for something to love and spoil rotten
think i'm looking for the holy grail here but i know u guys are great at this sort of thing.
1st off the horse needs to be quiet and sane, both of us are lacking confidence so we need a horse we can trust.
my friend rode for years but lost her nerve, she's now determined to get it back, which she's doing well, but i'd still class her as a novice rider. we're both larger ladies, not sure how much either of us weigh but i'm a size 16, my friend is a bit bigger than myself, so we need something thats up to weight.
i've ridden since i was 10 years old, worked with horses including racers from when i was 15 up til i was 22, ran my own yard and was sole charge of several. i had a 5 year break, and am now back working with horses but i really don't have the confidence i used to. i'm a very experienced rider, just rusty and am not a show jumper or dressage person, in fact i'm pretty sure i'd feel more comfortable riding in a racing saddle than anything else
my friend would love to go on to compete in endurance and le trec, so we're looking for something that can do that job, tho if we find something that is quiet and going to look after us then its not a big deal if its never gonna be a world beating endurance type horse.
we're looking for a horse up to about 12 years old, tho again if it's going to fit the bill if its a bit older than that then we're not bothered.
we're not looking to do dressage(tho will be having lessons) or show jumping but it would be nice if i could do a bit of jumping on something that knows the job as this is my main area of zero confidence. i was pushed into jumping beyond my height comfort zone on a horse that wasn't interested he just kept running out and now anything over a foot is a big obstacle to me especially if it has fillers (am the 1st person i've heard of to have issues with fillers, heard of a few horses with the same issues )
plus we're in scotland, i've searched but found only 1 here that might do the job, but at £900 am wondering whats dodgy with it. to many people are willing to con and lie to get rid of a horse
we're offering a lovely home with 2 people to spoil the horse rotten, and will be a home for life. i am more than happy to just spend time with a horse, riding is a bonus, so i won't be discarding the horse if things go wrong. my friend is very similar to me, she loves nothing more than cuddling and grooming and chatting away to the horses on the yard. lol

be careful though thats a trade advertiser! aka dealer!!!(the one you posted) do feel sorry for her though. she prob does need good feed just spotted the bit about being anybodies ride!!
