Ok, apologies in advance if this gets long and complicated, there's just a lot to explain.
So last night I was on one of the horsey Facebook groups when up pops a warning from someone about an unscrupulous seller who had told her the horse was exactly what she was looking for and would be the perfect project for breeding and re-breaking. All seemed well until she tried to organise to view said horse and then was told good luck trying to get it out of the field as it rears, bucks, bronks etc. and is so dangerous it apparently put seller in hospital!
It's now transpired that this horse and another have been passed on as companions with separation issues and that the horse that's advertised for sale cannot be ridden as it has a severe back injury.
The trouble is the seller is my step-dads nephew! I've never had anything to do with him as he's known to lie and steal and generally is involved in things I'd rather not be a part of, but now I'm concerned for both these horses welfare (he is honestly clueless about horses, add to that the fact he has 3 kids and no job!) and also the potential for someone to be injured or at worst killed whilst trying to re-back a horse that should never be ridden.
I'm at a loss as to what to do here. OH thinks I should stay out of it as this guy has always given us both a bad feeling and has asperges syndrome which has shown him to be prone to some incredibly violent outbursts (which we obviously don't want to be on the receiving end of!) but at the same time I hate to think of these horses unnecessarily suffering or someone getting hurt because of his lies
