A little bit of background, I have got a smart well-bred 5 year old Gelding with good show jumping bloodlines and due to personal circumstances I am not sure what to do with him. He is an easy horse, hacks alone/in company, good to load, has been to clinics/lessons, jumps a small course but can be a bit lazy. Since I bought him last year (passed a vetting) he has developed a small sarcoid.
My other options with him are:
I am really at a loss and the lack of decent yards around my area that do not cost the earth is not helping.
My other options with him are:
- Sell him at a much reduced price due to sarcoid. Since he has developed it no others have formed and it has not changed for a few months. I was hoping to get back what I paid for him but not sure this is possible now?
- Try and find a loan home for him but I would be very fussy and they would need to have an affiliated BS record and would not just want to hack him.
- Keep him ticking over for a bit longer and then turn him away until next spring and hope my life has become a bit more stable again/I have more money for lessons/competitions but I feel this would be wasting him.
I am really at a loss and the lack of decent yards around my area that do not cost the earth is not helping.
