There is a house at the end of my road with a trophy dog- 'staffy' taller than a Labrador, twice as wide, you know the sort. It escaped from the garden once and attacked a lurcher chilling in its own garden and just recently chased after my neighbour and her dog. She was able to get into a garden with a high gate before it caught up with her fortunately. Yesterday I was walking down to the yard, (have to go past this way) and the dog was out in the garden, despite me being across the road it went nuts! Throwing itself against the fence and gate, not jumping up but hurling itself against it! I have no doubt if it got out it would have attacked me!!
I'm not intimidated by big dogs generally, my main man is a great Dane x Rottweiler, I've always had big dogs, but this has worried me. A lot of kids live near this dog, including mine, it's a horrific incident waiting to happen.....WWYD? Is there anything I can do to prevent this?

Get in touch with your local dog warden, and explain your worries. He should then take it on board, and have a chat with the owner.

The police were called when it attacked the lurcher, but not sure about the other. Trouble is the owner is a drug dealer and not the sort of person to pay any attention to a polite chat. I'll try the dog warden, assume we must have one, hopefully they can help.

Your neighbour that was chased behind the gate really needs to report it to the police and the dog warden. The dog sounds a complete liability and the more incidences that are recorded the better.

I occasionally walk past a 3m sq yard that has 3 very large mastiff types in it. They throw themselves very aggressively against the 6ft high gate that borders a public highway and the last time I went past they actually turned on each other. Frightening and heartbreaking at the same time.

Found these on a Google search for Sleaford dog wardens
